Well, Lets See.. 1998-2008.I joined up with the Navy right out of high school, went to boot camp up in Chicago from June of 98 until October of 98, from there went down to Pensacola, Florida for Aviation Electrician trade school and graduated retty hi in the rankings.
From there went to Jacksonville for more schooling, then over to North Island, California, for even more schooling. hopped on a small transport and flew out to Japan. Arrived in Japan in April of 99 and served with VS-21 attached to the USS KittyHawk. Stayed there until the end of 2004. During my stay, I beccame one of 3 enlisted individuals that were qualified and allowed to become in-flight technicians in the S-3B Aircraft, basically meaning I got to fly in the aircraft and if something happened inflight with the aircraft it was my job to get it fixed, if possible, in flight.
I've been to Iwo Jima, Johnston Atoll, Kwajalein Atoll, Wake Island, Guam, Hawaii, Perth and Sydney Australia, Thailand, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Singapore, Malaysia, England, Korea and countless miles of ocean. In the Service like most of the others from the class that served did some time with the sand storms and oppressive heat. February 13th of 2002 I met my wife, proposed to her on August 24th of 2002 and married July4th of 2003. a few months later on October 3rd we welcomed our son Christopher. The greatest thing in the world!
He will be 5 shortly. Good Lord how time flies! End of 2004 I was transfered to Lemoore California, where after a couple years we decided that the smell of cow farts and dust/smog and garbage in the air was not that horrible. May of 2008 I Got out of the Navy after 10 years of honorable service. I was introduced to the sport of paintball while in Lemoore and i have become a member of a very well known team in the sport and also Co-Own a high pressure air supply company that travels all over the country supplying air to the players for their weapons.
That's pretty sad.. to look up and see that the last ten years of ones life can be summarized into a couple of lines on a blog somewhere in Al Gore land... Well, that's me I do apologize I could not attend the reunion but I am having a great time seeing old faces and knowing that gravity was not mean to me as well. Good lord some of us got really fat! HA HA.. any way. we will hope to see you at the next one in what 5 years or 10?
